A block Lanczos method for the symmetric generalized Eigenvalue Complementarity Problem

报告摘要:Our talk concerns with a symmetric generalized eigenvalue complementarity problem (GEiCP) arisen from the frictional contact system. The block Lanczos method is presented for solving the symmetric GEiCP due to the fact that a large-scale original GEiCP is equivalent to its corresponding small-scale symmetric GEiCP, under the circumstance that the exact breakdown of the block Lanczos process has occurred. To this end, the quadratically constrained quadratic programming (QCQP) formulations are employed to solve the small-scale symmetric GEiCP for getting an approximate solution of the original symmetric GEiCP.  The convergence analysis before the exact breakdown occurrence is carried out, and the convergence rate of the block Lanczos method for solving GEiCP are also given in detail. We compare the block Lanczos methods based several QCQP solvers and various numerical results demonstrate that the block Lanczos methods are efficient for solving the symmetric GEiCP.


报告人简介:雷渊,湖南大学数学学院教授、博士生导师,主要研究方向数值代数与科学计算。主持国家自然科学基金、国防创新特区基金、湖南省自然科学基金等多项科研项目,在《SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl.》、《Signal Processing》《Numer. Linear Algebra Appl.》、《Numer. Algorithms》等期刊上发表学术论文20余篇,现为中国工业与应用数学学会理事,湖南省数学学会常务理事,湖南省计算数学暨应用软件学会副理事长。
